The Neighborhood

Houston's Fastest-Evolving Neighborhood

EaDo is a neighborhood in transition, and that's the challenge. One block is a brand-new townhome development with finished streets and clear access. The next is an active construction zone with temporary fencing and heavy equipment. Loft conversions in former warehouses have freight elevators with different weight limits than residential high-rises. Street parking varies wildly, and some addresses still sit on semi-industrial roads that weren't built for residential moving traffic.

We've been moving people in and out of EaDo through every phase of its development — we know which streets are torn up this month, which buildings need freight elevator reservations, and where to park a 26-foot truck without blocking a construction crew. It's a neighborhood that rewards movers who know it, and we do.

What to Expect

Moving Challenges in EaDo

Every neighborhood has its quirks. Here's what makes moving in EaDo different — and why experience matters.

Active construction zones on adjacent blocks

EaDo's ongoing development means construction activity is common near residential addresses. Blocked streets, temporary detours, equipment staging, and unpaved shoulders can limit truck access. Confirm the route 24-48 hours before the move.

Warehouse loft conversions with non-standard access

Older industrial buildings converted to residential lofts may have oversized freight elevators with manual gates, narrow loading areas, or unconventional floor layouts (open-plan with concrete floors and exposed ductwork). Standard residential moving assumptions may not apply.

METRORail crossings and restricted turns

The Green and Purple METRORail lines run through EaDo along Harrisburg Boulevard and surrounding streets. Rail crossings limit where trucks can turn, and parking near rail stops is restricted.

Game-day traffic near Shell Energy Stadium

Dynamo match days and stadium events create traffic spikes and parking displacement in southern EaDo. Moves within a half-mile of the stadium should avoid event times.
