The 150 Movers

Our Story

Houston's Most Trusted Movers.
Seventeen Years and Counting.

From a Craigslist ad during the worst recession in a generation to one of Houston's most trusted moving companies. This is how it happened.

Born in a Recession.
Built to Last.

It was 2009. The economy had collapsed. Families across Houston were losing homes, switching apartments, downsizing — and the professional movers they called wanted $300, $400, $500 an hour. The cheap alternatives were unlicensed, unreliable, or both.

So we did the math. The lowest honest price for two professional movers and a truck was $150 flat for the first hour. Not a teaser rate. Not a loss leader. A real, sustainable price that let us pay our crews fairly and keep our trucks maintained — while giving Houston families a professional move they could actually afford.

We named the company after that honest number.

Seventeen Years. One Promise.

2008

The Problem

Houston families were being priced out of professional moving. The alternatives? Unlicensed crews, hidden fees, damaged furniture, no-shows. There had to be a better way.

2009

The Answer

The 150 Movers launched during the Great Recession with one promise: two professional movers and a truck for $150 an hour. Craigslist ads, posted multiple times a day. Word of mouth did the rest.

2010s

The Reputation

Year after year, the reputation grew. The fleet expanded. Houston learned that The 150 Movers was the affordable option that actually showed up on time, treated your belongings with care, and never hit you with surprise charges.

2020

History Repeats

COVID hit. The parallels to the recession were unmistakable. People lost jobs, downsized, needed to move on a budget. The 150 Movers stepped up again, the same way we did in year one.

Today

17 Years of Experience.

BBB A+ rated. TXDMV licensed. Serving the entire Houston metro seven days a week — apartments, houses, offices, and everything in between, with the same honest pricing and care we started with.

Grown, But Grounded.

Today, The 150 Movers handles the full spectrum — apartment moves, whole-house relocations, office moves, long-distance hauls, packing, gun safes, and everything in between. We've grown from a two-man crew with one truck to one of Houston's most recognized moving companies.

But we're proud we can still often offer the $150 flat rate for simple jobs and deliveries inside the city. Not because we have to — because it's who we are. That rate is proof that the founding values haven't changed, even as the company has scaled.

BBB A+ Accredited.
Trust isn't a marketing line. It's a track record.

The Better Business Bureau doesn't hand out A+ ratings to companies that cut corners. Our accreditation reflects seventeen years of transparent pricing, professional service, and doing right by Houston families — even when no one's watching. When you're choosing between Houston movers, look for the businesses that earned their reputation, not the ones that bought it.

Chief Barketing Officer

Meet Bruno.

Every Houston moving company needs a head of morale. Ours just happens to have four legs and a company bandana. Bruno is a German Shepherd and the unofficial face of The 150 Movers office and truckyard in North Houston.

Don't worry, Bruno doesn't come on moves. He's strictly office staff.
