The 150 Movers

Houston to El Paso Movers

The full width of Texas. Border town to mountain time — one truck, one crew.

The Route

Seven hundred and fifty miles. It's the kind of distance that reminds you Texas is not a state — it's a continent.

Houston to El Paso takes a loaded truck eleven to twelve hours on I-10 westbound. You pass through San Antonio, cross the Hill Country, enter the desert at Fort Stockton, and keep going until the Franklin Mountains appear on the horizon and you realize you're closer to Los Angeles than to where you started. It's the longest in-state move we run, and it requires a different level of planning than a three-hour run to Austin.

Either direction, we handle it — dedicated truck, one crew, no middlemen.

Why a Houston-Based Mover

Why We Beat the National Carriers on This Route

At 750 miles, the nationals will absolutely broker your move. Your belongings will ride in a shared truck with multiple families' furniture, stop at a warehouse in San Antonio or Midland, and arrive in El Paso on whatever day the logistics algorithm decides is efficient. Your delivery window will be measured in weeks, not days.

We don't operate that way. You get a dedicated truck. Your belongings are the only belongings on it. We load in Houston, drive I-10 across Texas, and deliver in El Paso on the date we agreed to. It's more expensive for us to operate this way than to consolidate loads — but it's the only way we're willing to operate, because it's the only way that works for the person paying the bill.

For military families at Fort Bliss who've dealt with government-contracted movers: you already know what brokered moves look like. This is the alternative.

Notable

The stretch between Fort Stockton and El Paso is 200+ miles of desert with limited services. We fuel and prepare before entering it. Speed limits increase to 80 mph in West Texas, but a loaded truck runs at its own pace. Summer temperatures along this stretch exceed 100°F — we ensure the truck and crew are prepared.

What to Expect

How Your Houston to El Paso Move Works

This is a multi-day move. Typical timeline: Day 1 — Load in Houston. Full pack (if needed) may require its own day before this. Day 2 — Drive Houston to El Paso. Our driver(s) make the full run with planned rest stops. Your belongings arrive at your El Paso address by evening. Day 3 (if needed) — Delivery and setup for very large households.

Your belongings stay on our truck the entire time. No warehouse. No transfer to a different vehicle. No one else touches your stuff between Houston and El Paso.

El Paso delivery varies by area — the west side near UTEP has older homes and tighter streets, the east side near Fort Bliss has military housing with specific delivery procedures, and the newer developments in far east El Paso and Horizon City have wide suburban access. We coordinate with base housing offices, apartment complexes, and HOAs in advance.

Transparent Pricing

What It Costs — and Why It Costs Less

750 miles is real distance, and the price reflects it. But even on a move this long, we beat the nationals — because they're covering broker fees, warehouse handling, claims departments for damage they caused by consolidating loads, and corporate overhead from coast to coast. We're covering fuel, labor, and one truck driving one route.

Common Questions

Houston to El Paso — FAQ

How long does a Houston-to-El Paso move take?

Two to three days depending on home size and packing needs. Load day one, drive day two, deliver day two or three.

Do you handle Fort Bliss military moves?

Yes. We work with military families regularly and understand PCS timelines, base housing delivery procedures, and the urgency of report dates. We're not a government contractor — we're a private mover you hire directly.

Can you move me from El Paso to Houston?

Yes. We pick up in El Paso and deliver to the Houston metro. Same dedicated truck, same pricing structure.

What if there's a breakdown or weather issue on the route?

We maintain our trucks rigorously, but 750 miles of desert means preparation matters. We carry emergency supplies and have roadside assistance coverage. For weather delays (dust storms, ice in winter), we communicate immediately and adjust the timeline. We don't take risks with your belongings or our crew.

Is it cheaper to just sell my stuff and buy new in El Paso?

For some people, honestly, yes — particularly if you're moving a small apartment of IKEA furniture. For most households with real furniture, family heirlooms, and a full home, the cost of replacing everything far exceeds the cost of moving it. We can help you figure out the math during the estimate process.
